Canadian Maple was chosen for this Shaker style kitchen The doors are mortice and tenoned in solid Maple, with panels of Maple veneered MDF. The end panels are tongue and grooved solid Maple boards designed to soften the severity of the classic, simple lines of this Shaker influenced furniture. The wine-rack drawers in the island unit (another departure from Quaker principles, no doubt!) were originally going to be cereal bins. |
